New roles at Netball Taranaki

Netball Taranaki has announced the creation of two innovative roles.

Interim general manager Shona Glentworth says after farewelling development officer Mairangi Tamati early in the New Year Netball Taranaki will merge the present responsibilities of the Netball Development Officer (Central-South) and Officials Development Officer into two similar roles.

The change will create more support and back-up for each position.

“If you love sport, and delivery of netball in particular, this job could be ideal for you,” she said.

The officers will be responsible for the development and delivery of all Netball Development activities in Taranaki and be part of a three-strong team of development officers.

The roles will initially involve assisting with planning, reviewing processes and set up, so will be up to 40 hours a week on any five of seven days, but it is intended they will be 30-hour a week roles from July 2018.

Shona said Netball Taranaki was looking for candidates who could show they can be leaders in netball and stamp their mark on the game through top communication and organisational skills.

Applications for the positions have opened and will close on December 12.
